JUNIOR HAWKS HOST TAMPA JUNIORS THIS WEEKEND!!
by Ed Benz posted 09/18/2014

The Hawks Junior squads will be in action this weekend at Skate Zone in Lake Worth. On Saturday 9/20, the Elite team (2-0) will open things up with a 3:10pm start against the rival Tampa Juniors. The Empire team (1-1) will play the same Tampa Juniors in the nightcap at 6:00pm. On Sunday 9/21 the action continues with the Elite team and Tampa hitting the ice at 9:10am. The Empire game will follow at 12 noon.

Coaches Tim Kyrkostas (Elite) and Paul Pechmann (Empire) are very excited about the upcoming season with our new crop of Hawks this year. The two teams opened up the season taking 7 of 8 points from the Atlanta Knights on Labor Day weekend. The Elite grabbed a pair of wins by 6-5 (overtime) and 9-4 scores. The Empire team opened with an impressive 5-1 victory and grabbed another point in their 3-2 overtime loss to the Knights.

The coaches would love to see as many Palm Beach Blackhawks players & coaches attend the games as possible. These games are a great way for our younger players to learn about the game and to see just how hard you have to play if you someday aspire to play at the Junior level. So please come on out and show the teams your support!

BLACKHAWKS SEND EIGHT TEAMS TO SAHOF PLAYOFFS
by ebenz posted 02/23/2014

The Blackhawks have completed their regular seasons in the SFHL and FAHL and will be sending eight teams to the SAHOF State Playoffs! Our Squirt A & AA teams both qualified for post season action. The AA squad was a runner up this year in the Orlando MLK tournament.
The Peewee A Black team tied for second place in the FAHL with a 15-1-2 league record. Their season included Early Bird & MLK Tournament Championships and a runner up in the prestigious Silverstick Tournament Regional. Their overall record was an impressive 29-8-3!  Not to be outdone, the Peewee AA team finished a solid SFHL season in second place with a 15-4-1 record. Their season included Labor Day & Thanksgiving Tournament Championships and a runner up in the JWK Winter "AAA" tournament. They finished with a terriffic 27-9-3 overall record.
The Bantam division will see all three Blackhawk teams in the mix at states. The "A" Red team finished third in the FAHL with a 12-5-1 record. They grabbed the "Eye of the Storm" Championship during their 14-7-2 tournament season - a great 26-12-3 overall. The "A" Black squad finished right behind Red in fourth place with an 11-6-1 league record. They did not fare as well in tournament play - with a 7-20-1 record. The Bantam AA made it to the post season finishing at 7-9-4 in SFHL play and 15-16-5 overall. They won the Hemby Cup Championship in North Carolina!
The Midget U16AA team had a 9-7-2 SFHL record and also qualified for the state tournament. Overall, they finished above .500 at 20-17-2 winning the Orlando MLK Tournament. They were also runner ups in the Thanksgiving & Labor day tournaments they participated in.
The Hawks organization and Blackhawk coaching staff are very proud of all the player's efforts this season and the proof of this effort is in your strong representation in the SAHOF playoffs. Thank you parents and volunteers for your support throughout the season, we would not be in this position without it! We wish all our teams good luck...play hard...and have fun in the post season - win or lose, you've made us proud!

HAWK PLAYERS IN THE NEWS!!
by ebenz posted 02/22/2014

In addition to the great news about Jakob Chychrun, who spent all of last season practicing with our Junior Hawks program, we have some other great news about former and current Hawks!!
Jake Simon, another Florida product and Junior Hawks player is the second leading scorer at Cushing Academy. Jake is enjoying the opportunity of a two year full scholarship at Cushing which the Junior Hawks were instrumental in garnering for him.Way to go Jake, keep pursuing your dream.
The Junior Hawks are also extremely proud to announce the first College commitments of this season's current Hawk squad! Zac Kemble has committed to attend school and play his college hockey at Division II - Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire. Zak is being offered a substantial academic scholarship and an opportunity to become their starting goalie next season.
Two other Junior Hawks players have made their commitments to pursue their academic and hockey careers at Aurora University outside of Chicago, Illinois. Both Dan Fuller and Tyler McConnell will be joining the newly formed Division 3 program in the fall. Both of these young men will be receiving substantial academic commitments from Aurora to pursue their goals at the college level.
We will have more college commitments coming in the coming weeks!
