EJHL SOUTH NOW EASTERN ELITE JUNIOR HOCKEY LEAGUE
by Ed Benz posted 04/06/2013

FROM THE EJHL SOUTH WEBSITE - and USA JR HOCKEY MAGAZINE  (by Joshua Boyd-APRIL 2013)

The new Eastern Elite Junior Hockey League (EEJHL) is grateful that the Eastern Junior Hockey League provided a huge assist in helping the new league reach its goals. Two years ago, the EJHL reached out to seven members of the Southeast Junior Hockey League and invited them to become an EJ-affiliated league. Thus, the EJHL South was born. The Potomac Patriots came on board this past season, bringing the EJ-South to eight members. Those eight teams have developed into highly competitive Tier 3 Junior teams and are now ready to do their own thing as the EEJHL...
"I certainly believe there are great operators and great coaches in our league," said Kyrkostas. "We are a strong league in terms of really providing a good platform for our players to be exposed to colleges. I'm absolutely excited for next season. If I were a player looking for an emerging league in which to showcase my talents, I'd definitely take a good hard look at the Eastern Elite Junior Hockey League."  ........

Some of our "old Hawks" are leaving the nest and they've been recognized in USA Jr Hockey Magazine's April 2013 issue! That's Captain Kevin Mansolill on the cover and the article about our Hawks speaks volumes about the job the Hawks' Staff and Director/Coach Tim Kyrkostas have done promoting our players upward in their future hockey careers!  We have linked the photo to this great story and we hope you'll read how our guys loved playing in Florida for the Palm Beach Hawks!

Player Updates Announced by Coach Kyrkostas

CJ Hoy & Nick Aleva
The Jr. Hawks organization is pleased to announce that forwards CJ Hoy and Nick Aleva (both from Cleveland, Ohio) have been offered Jr. A contracts to play for the Hartford Wolfpack in the AJHL next season. Both forwards had outstanding season for the Hawks and we are really excited for them both to possibly be able to play together next season for Hartford. Both players have multiple division III programs interested in them.

Jake Simons
The Hawks are very excited to announce that forward Jake Simons (Coral Springs, FL) has earned an incredible financial aid scholarship from the New England prep powerhouse - Cushing Academy. Jake will attend Cushing next fall as a junior in high school. Jake has multiple Division I program’s watching him and we are looking forward to hearing about more great things to come for Jake next season.

Dennis Alligmon
It is with great pleasure that the Palm Beach Hawks announce forward Dennis Allingmon from Stockholm, Sweden has been accepted to St. Michael’s College & Franklin Pierce University. Dennis is waiting to see what kind of financial aid he can qualify for before making his final decision. We are very proud of Dennis for his outstanding leadership and play this season and we know Dennis is going to go on to do great things not only on the ice but also in the classroom.

MATT GEIB ACCEPTS NCAA DIV-III OFFER!
by Ed Benz posted 03/22/2013

Coach Tim Kyrkostas is thrilled to announce that defenseman Matt Geib from Cleveland, Ohio has officially committed to attend Franklin Pierce University next fall to play NCAA Division III hockey. "We are very proud of Matt for this accomplishment! Matt has been our most improved player this season. Through his hard work he’s gained 10 pounds of muscle and has really developed all of the characteristics that I believe will make him a solid collegiate player."

And in addition to this news, we received this note from his next coach, Jaymie Harrington at Franklin Pierce in Rindge, New Hampshire: "We're excited to get Matt Geib into our program. I feel Matt has the physical and mental maturity to come into our program and compete from day one. We feel Matt's best hockey is ahead of him and we are thrilled to have that happen in a Raven's uniform."
"From my standpoint, it has been an absolute pleasure working with the staff in Palm Beach.  I've been doing this for six years now and Tim (Kyrkostas) and Peter (Wallack) are at the top of the list as far as promoting and providing information to their players and college coaches. The Palm Beach Hawks organization has shown that they put their player's best interests first and foremost and as a college coach, I could ask nothing more from them.
It's beyond refreshing to work with an organization like the Hawks! Kudo's to everything you are doing. Franklin Pierce will certainly be back to Florida VERY soon!"

We would like to thank coach Harrington for his kind words and know that Matt will carry the Hawk committment to excellence forward with him in his college career. We wish Matt all the best in all his future endeavors!

HAWKS CPT KEVIN MANSOLILL COMMITS TO SUFFOLK UNIVERSITY!!
by Ed Benz posted 02/17/2013

EJ South Head Coach Tim Kyrkostas is excited to share some great news! One of our Jr. Hawks, team captain Kevin Mansolill (Deerfield Beach, Fl), has committed to Suffolk University to play NCAA Division III college hockey next fall.
The Men's Ice Hockey program at Suffolk University is steeped in tradition. One of the most recognizable names in Division III ice hockey, Suffolk University is also looking forward to an even brighter future. The Rams are a member of the ECAC Northeast, which is the largest college hockey conference in the nation. The league is made up of 16 member institutions. The winner of the ECAC Northeast tournament earns an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Year in and year out the Rams also play a very competitive non-league schedule. Suffolk University balances one of New England's top educational institutions with a highly competitive athletic program. The Men's Ice Hockey program at Suffolk University offers student athletes a well-balanced life. Players can get a real world education and mature as a person both athletically and socially within the hockey program.

"Kevin has worked hard this season and we are thrilled to recognize him for this achievment. Our best wishes go out to Kevin and his family as he moves on next year to the next level - collegiate hockey at Suffolk University!" - Coach Tim K.
